
在新生訓練開訓致詞時,我以三個「跟上!」來期勉新生快速地適應中學的環境和學習,分別是:跟上中學生身心發展健康標準、跟上中學生應該有的行為舉止樣態、以及跟上中學的學業與升學進度。簡言之,就是要求同學們應注重身心健康、品格態度與課業學習這三個層面。
有關「身體健康」標準,教育部體育署體適能網站上列有「台閔地區7-23歲男生及女生的身高體重百分等級常模」,請同學們不妨上網查詢自己的身體發展是否跟上了年齡常模?自己的BMI值是否在正常的範圍內,有沒有過重或過輕的狀況?中學階段是生長激素旺盛的最後黃金關鍵期,同學們務必把握充足的睡眠、均衡飲食、及規律的運動,努力跟上甚至超越常模標準!
而在「品格態度」方面校長對同學們的期許更深!每一位同學都應跟上:有禮貌要先從主動打招呼做起,想要有氣質先得做到不要口出穢言,還要服儀合宜、行止得體,懂得感恩就不能動輒造成餐廳阿姨需立即清理拖地,遵守班規和校規等團體規範不僅個人能夠因此而適應良好,也表示對我們所處的班級和學校應有的尊重。
「課業學習」則是國高中生非常吃重的任務,中學階段的課業科目增加且難度加深,又有會考、學測和統測等升學考試來檢驗同學們的學習表現,再加上我們葳格還會特別加強同學們的英文,課業壓力確實不小!稍有怠惰便會根基不穩導致新進度聽不懂。所以同學們跟上中學課業的最好學習方式,便是「今日事今日畢!」絕不堆積、延遲學習及作業。更有甚者追求出類拔萃,那麼就需要專注當下的學習效能推至最佳,創造出來多的時間便可以進行更廣泛或更進階的學習。
「身心健康」、「品格態度」、「課業學習」這三個層面不僅只是新生要跟上,校長也同樣期勉二、三年級的同學也都要跟上中學生應有的標準,培養厚實的競爭力!
THE "THREE KEEP UPS" for High School Students|Christine Chang
In the freshman orientation, three "keep up" principles were highlighted for new high school students. These principles cover physical and mental well-being, character and behavior, and academic performance. The first principle promotes healthy physical development through monitoring BMI, adequate sleep, a balanced diet, and exercise. The second principle stresses respectful behavior, including politeness and gratitude, fostering personal growth and a respectful school community. The final principle focuses on managing the increased academic workload in high school, emphasizing time management and diligence.
These principles apply not only to freshmen but are encouraged for second and third-year students, providing a comprehensive framework for success. By prioritizing physical and mental health, character and behavior, and academic performance, students can lay a solid foundation for their high school journey, positioning themselves for excellence and personal growth. The orientation address offers valuable guidance, fostering holistic development and a sense of responsibility. Adhering to these principles equips students to navigate high school's challenges and opportunities, setting the stage for a successful educational experience.
