The First Big Exam in My Life
The three years of hard work in junior high were all for us to shine in this battlefield – the "Comprehensive Exam."
After the seniors graduated, seeing the sign "903" suddenly appear at our classroom door brought an indescribable sense of confusion. In the blink of an eye, we realized that less than a year remained before the once-distant exam. Yet, we had not learned how to become "ninth graders," and time would not allow us to waste it.
Amid rising pressure and an overwhelming sea of practice questions, it was our homeroom teacher whose encouragement and support kept us from being swallowed up. Whenever we felt exhausted by the endless tests and reviews, he would silently watch from the sidelines. He never urged us forward or forced us ahead; he simply waited patiently for us to pick up our pens and move forward again at our own pace.
The pressure from the Comprehensive Exam was undoubtedly daunting, but we couldn't give in. Our teachers and classmates had fought together for three years. If we gave up now, wouldn't it be a betrayal of everyone's hard work? With firm beliefs, we would eventually step onto our stage. On that day, when you give it your all, you'll realize that the exam is not as intimidating as it seemed. You worked hard, and regardless of the outcome, that effort becomes what truly matters.
This first major exam in life taught me many things. The most important lesson is that whenever we feel tired from prolonged efforts, it’s okay to pause briefly, look around at those who have been with you all along, and realize you're not fighting alone. You'll then find that the results of working together are far more rewarding than battling alone. This is why I chose to stay at Wagor. Here, we can support each other, grow together, and strive towards our goals side by side.
